The Ending Plastic Pollution Innovation Challenge (EPPIC) is an ASEAN-wide competition aiming to beat plastic pollution in coastal cities in Viet Nam, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Lao DPR, and Cambodia by selecting innovative solutions and helping them to grow and scale up. Eight innovations took part in the EPPIC Incubator in 2023, and two finalists — TONTOTON and WELab at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia — have been part of the EPPIC Accelerator in 2024. As stakeholders work to tackle waste issues in Cambodia, EPPIC has spotlighted and uplifted exciting R&D and startup solutions that are a key piece of the puzzle. The EPPIC program in Cambodia is funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), implemented by UNDP Cambodia, and organised by Impact Hub Phnom Penh.
